Near real time European-wide weather
satellite imagery from Meteosat-8, NOAA AVHRR and Acqua/Terra
MODIS. Data from Meteosat-8 (~3 km grid) is updated
every six hours; data from other satellites is
updated between 2-4 times a day (~1 km grid).
High-resolution (~25 km or 0.2 degree grid) hourly European weather forecast
data from Theyr,
including wind speed and direction, pressure, cloud
cover and precipitation.
Lower-resolution (~50 km or 0.5 degree grid) three-hourly worldwide weather
forecast data from NOAA’s GFS, including wind
speed and direction, pressure, cloud cover and precipitation.
Forecast daily sea currents
for Mediterranean waters (~6
km grid).
Nowcast ocean wind vectors observed by the QuikSCAT
satellite (~25 km grid) with 1-2 passes a day.
Sea state (~100 km or 1 x 1.25 degrees grid) three-hourly forecast data
from NOAA’s WaveWatch, including wave height,
wave direction and swell period.
SYNOP weather reports - A variety of weather and environmental data collected
by sensors or human observers from buoys, ships or land
stations, ingested every 30 minutes with most reporting stations working on a 3 or 6 hour update cycle.
