Midas Supports Alpha Global Expedition

In conjunction with Smartcom Software and MDA, Midas are supporting Adrian Flanagan in his Alpha Global expedition to be the first sailor to do a vertical circumnavigation, and the first single handed sailor to cross the North East passage from the Bering Straits, across the top of Russia, and thence tot he UK. Midas are providing weather forecast data, and MDA Radarsat imagery, for Smartcom Software to provide routing advice to Adrian.

Midas Sets Up Own Satellite Receiving Station

To ensure a reliable feed of satellite imagery, Midas Weather is setting up its own satellite receiving station. This will permit reception of images from Meteosat 8 and other satellites, allowing satellite coverage to be extended to worldwide in due course.

Midas Supplies Data to European Space Agency

Midas is to supply weather forecast data in GRIB format to ESA's product catalogue. This will allow customers interested in weather forecast and EO data to select, purchase and download data through ESA's web site.

Midas is to supply weather forecast data to the Galileo sponsored ALIS project, examining location based services and e-navigation, and the benefits of Galileo over other GNSS systems, for the leisure marine sector.

Midas Weather Ltd Formed

With the conclusion of the MIDAS ESA sponsored project, ComSine and Smartcom Software have formed Midas Weather Ltd as a joint venture company to commercialise on the developments of the ESA project.
